Taiwan BJJ / Taiwan Muay Thai once again triumphed in yet another MMA event, Sinful Awakening, put on by Liquid Lifestyle Promotions in the Luxy nightclub in Taipei, Taiwan on July 14, 2009.

The event was the first MMA event inaugurated by Pacific Rim Organization Fighting in conjunction with Liquid Lifestyle Promotions, a party event promotion group. Titled "Sinful Awakening," the event was held in Taipei at the Luxy nightclub complex, which was transformed into a fight arena with state of the art sound and visual systems. According to the event promoter, Royal Chiou, the combination of taiko drumming, hip-hop dancing, neo-classic chinese rappers, and freestyle DJs at the event represented the progression of mix martial arts.
Taiwan BJJ/Muay Thai/MMA fighters rocked in the event. The Academy's grappling and MMA instructor, Jason Bukich, stepped up to fight in the main event against a judo Olympian that outweighed him by 10 kilograms.
Bukich neatly finished the fight in 55 seconds with textbook grappling techniques -- takedown, take the back, sink in the the RNC for the tapout.
The Academy's other fighter, Andrei Liu, fought a tough three-round fight against Taiwan's middle-weight San-Da champion, who has an impressive record of 88 consecutive San-Da wins and mutliple MMA wins in the last four years. Andrei had impressive takedowns and positional control against Chang which won him a split decision from the judges. It was another great night for Taiwan BJJ / Taiwan Muay Thai. So far, our fighters have not lost a MMA match in Taiwan.
